Questions

What is structured data, and why does AI care?

It's a block of code in your page that states your business facts in a fixed format: what you are, where, your hours, phone and services. AI tools and search engines read it to be sure of those facts instead of guessing them from your page text.

Is this the same as Google's Rich Results Test?

No. Google's test checks whether your markup qualifies for Google's special search results. This checks whether your page gives AI tools the local business facts they use when deciding who to recommend, and whether the page can be read at all without JavaScript.

Why does it say my page isn't readable without JavaScript?

Some website builders send an empty page and fill it in with JavaScript. Browsers handle that, but most AI crawlers don't run JavaScript, so they see nothing. The fix is server-side rendering or prerendering, which your web developer can set up.

Can I just paste the suggested code in?

Only after replacing every value marked REPLACE and checking the rest. Structured data that disagrees with your page or Google profile does more harm than none.

Which page should I check?

Your homepage first, then your contact page. For a business with several branches, check one branch page: each location should have its own page and its own block.
